Saturday is for the city's noise. Sunday is for its quiet. The trick to a great Sunday in New York is to plan almost nothing and walk almost everywhere.
Morning
Coffee at the inn, a long shower, and then out the door before the brunch crowds arrive. Walk toward the river, or toward the park, or toward whichever bookstore opens earliest.
Afternoon
Lunch should be small and standing up. A slice. A bagel. A cup of something cold. Save your appetite for later. Spend the afternoon in a museum, or sitting on a bench, or in a movie theater with the air conditioning turned up too high.
Evening
Back to the inn before dark. Open the window. Pour something. The city, for once, has nowhere it needs you to be.
